Lamp and Letters
What is interference?
Placing a golden triangle on the lamp turned a single beam of light into many spots above it. This demonstrates how light behaves as a wave.
Like ripples on a lake, light waves can interact in complex ways. When two sets of ripples meet, they interfere: aligned waves amplify each other (constructive interference), while misaligned waves cancel each other out (destructive interference).
In the puzzle, this wave interference created a pattern of bright and dark spots above the triangle, revealing the hidden structure of the light.
