Guided tour: What makes us human?

Three peopel stand around a glass case in an exhibition. There are two pieces of two in the glass case, which are used by chimpanzees to open nuts.

Communication, culture, and cooperation: How are these characteristics and behaviors studied in humans and other animals? And what do they have to do with nutcrackers?

On Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2 p.m., we will delve into the research conducted by the Institute of Evolutionary Anthropology. We will ask ourselves what actually makes us human, how researchers answer this question, and what differences, but above all similarities, there are between us and other animals.

The guided tour is free of charge and will last about one hour. It will be conducted in German.
