Guided tour: Modern physics research

How does the search for the unknown work at the world's largest particle accelerator? And what is the universe made of?

CERN, the world's largest particle accelerator, is home to cutting-edge physics research. The Department of Physics of the University of Zurich is also involved in this work. In our public tour on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2 p.m., we will show you how research is addressing the big questions about the universe: What is the universe made of? Are there any indications for new particles? We will also highlight other exciting projects at the institute, such as the search for dark matter.

Join us! The tour is free of charge. This tour will be in German. An English tour will take place on Wednesday, 7 January 2026 at 6 p.m.
