Privacy Policy

The application is part of the exhibition ‘Radiotracers – Hot on the Trail of Cancer’ in the Science Pavilion UZH at the Faculty of Science (MNF) of the University of Zurich (UZH). It is not necessary to visit the exhibition to understand the content of the app. The aim of the app is to make the concept behind Radiotracers more accessible and understandable. The Science Pavilion UZH makes this iPad application available to interested users free of charge.

The Data Privacy and General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the use of our app. By downloading and using the app, you agree to these GTC.

  1. Disclaimer for epileptic seizures
    Use of the app is at your own risk. We accept no liability for health impairments, including epileptic seizures, that may arise from using the app. If you or someone close to you is sensitive to visual stimuli, we recommend using the app with caution or refraining from using it altogether.
     
  2. Access to the camera
    The app requires access to the camera of the device on which it is installed in order to ensure functionality. The Science Pavilion UZH does not store or share any images, videos or other personal data with third parties.
     
  3. Electronic data transmission and data security
    In accordance with § 2 (1), (3) 1DG ZH in conjunction with § 1 (1) UniG, the University of Zurich, as the responsible body, guarantees compliance with the relevant data protection requirements as determined by the Information and Data Protection Act of the Canton of Zurich (IDG ZH).

    The Science Pavilion UZH does not collect, store or process personal data. We cannot guarantee protection against the disclosure of data by third-party providers, such as the manufacturer of the device or software.
     
  4. Intellectual property rights, licences
    Science Lab UZH hereby grants users a time-limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use this app. The app is protected by copyright. Users have no right to make technical changes to it or to reuse the results of such changes. Any actual or attempted reverse engineering or decompilation of the software, as well as the reuse of the results thereof, is expressly prohibited, unless permitted by law.
     
  5. Intellectual property
    All content of the app (text, graphics, multimedia content, logos, etc.) is protected by copyright and/or trademark law. Any content of the app may only be stored or printed for personal use and for non-commercial purposes. Any further changes, reproductions, links, copies or uses of any content are prohibited without the prior written consent of the Science Pavilion UZH.   6. Updates, upgrades
    The Science Pavilion UZH is entitled, but not obliged, to provide updates or upgrades to the app. Users agree that the Science Pavilion UZH may provide updates and upgrades that may affect the continued use of the app if these updates and upgrades are not downloaded or installed.
     
  7. Changes and discontinuation of the app
    The Science Pavilion UZH reserves the right to delete, change, supplement or improve content, information and settings at any time for any reason, without any notification, justification or announcement, or to discontinue the app entirely. The Science Pavilion UZH may unilaterally change these terms of use and privacy policy at any time. By continuing to use the app, you accept the changes. Users are free to delete and uninstall the app immediately and free of charge at any time. Once the app has been deleted, you will no longer have access to the app or the services associated with it.
     
  8. Warranty and disclaimer
    No guarantee is given for the information provided by the Science Pavilion UZH (in particular for its accuracy, completeness and timeliness). All concerns and claims regarding the content should be addressed to the Science Pavilion UZH. If you have any questions, please send an email to the contact address below. To the extent permitted by law, the Science Pavilion UZH accepts no liability for any direct or indirect damage incurred by users in connection with any use of the app. This includes, in particular, damage resulting from transmission errors, technical defects, interruptions, malfunctions or illegal actions by third parties.

    Use of the app is at the user's own risk. Each user is solely responsible for the safe use of the app and their device. The Science Pavilion UZH cannot guarantee the uninterrupted and error-free operation of this app. The Science Pavilion UZH also accepts no liability for technical problems and performance disruptions, or damage to the software.

    The user is liable for any breaches of contract by the user and any corresponding claims by third parties. If legal action is taken against the user, the user shall indemnify the Science Pavilion UZH against any claims by third parties.
     
  9. Place of jurisdiction and applicable law
    Swiss law applies exclusively to all questions and disputes in connection with this app. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the city of Zurich.
