Marie Curie, born Maria Skłodowska in Poland, became one of the most renowned scientists of all time. After moving to Paris to study at the Sorbonne, she met Pierre Curie, and together they researched radiation with Henri Becquerel. This work earned the trio the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903.

After Pierre’s death, Marie continued her research and became the first person ever to receive a second Nobel Prize, this time in Chemistry. She dedicated the rest of her life to exploring medical uses of radiation and to share her knowledge.
